Whether you’re new to the world of cycling or are a seasoned biker, it can never hurt to set yourself a few goals where your favourite pastime is concerned. Doing so means that your hobby will never grow stale and you’ll remain as in love with it as you always have been. Here are three top goals to try and achieve next year.
Land’s End to John O’Groats
A big island crossing would be a fantastic way to see the new year in and will really set you on the right path for the whole of 2017. Land’s End to John O’Groats is of course one of the most famous crossings, but you could also do the Trans Pennine trail (the majority of which is off road, which makes it even more exciting) or even Malin to Mizen in Ireland if you want a proper holiday.
Watch the Tour de France
Yes, you can catch the action sat at home on your sofa but there’s no better way to really experience it than by going to see it in person. Make a real holiday of it, why don’t you? It all kicks off in Dusseldorf in Germany on July 1st next year, but it might be fun to catch the tail end of it in Paris on July 23rd.
Try racing yourself
It might be a bit daunting at first but what a great challenge to set yourself for 2017. See if there are any local bike races in your area and sign up. Who knows? You might take home the gold.
